To promote Korean Cuisine and Southern Korean Traditional Food Culture, Korean Cuisine Contest for Foreigners is being held. All foreigners with passion for food are encouraged to participate.

 ◈Cuisine: Korean cuisine (Southern traditional cuisines)
 ◈Participants: 16 teams
 ◈Organized by: Cultural Heritage Administration, City of Gwangju, Gwangju Cultural Foundation
 
 
 □ Contestant Recruitment and Entry Form Submission
  ≪ Entry Form Submission≫
  ○ Term: 2015. 11. 12(Thurs) ~ 11. 21(Sat)
  ○ Eligibility: Foreigners resident in Korea
  ○ Documents: Contest Entry Form
  ○ Method of application: In person or by e-mail
 
① The entry form for the event can be downloaded from homepage of Gwangju International Center(http://www.gic.or.kr) to be submitted in person or by e-mail after completing the form.
 
② Cuisine introduction (title, ingredients, cooking method, behind story, etc.) need to be prepared and submitted along with the entry form.

③ Document Evaluation(11.24/ Tues) → Results Announcement(11.25/ Weds) → Main Contest(11.28/ Sat)
 
 
※ Note when submitting entry form for the contest
① Participant can me made up of a team consisting of 1~2 individuals. Personal information ingredients, cooking method, utensils, etc., must be submitted along with the entry form.
② Cuisine is defined to be food enjoyed by the participant cooking while  in Korea.
③ The behind story regarding the cuisine must be submitted with the entry form. 
④ Photograph of the cuisine must be in color. 
⑤ The cuisine in the photograph must be prepared by the participant. If it is not prepared by the participant, he/she can be disqualified from the contest.
 
 ≪Document Evaluation Results≫
  ○ Date: 2015. 11. 24(Tues) 
  ○ Method: Notified individually (By phone and SMS) 
    - The details of the contest (i.e., rules and other necessary items) will be notified to contestants by e-mail.
 
 ≪Main Contest≫
  ○ Date: 2015. 11. 28(Sat) 14:00~16:00(2 hours)
  ○ Location: Gwangju Traditional Cultural Center, Traditional Food Experience Hall
  ○ Cuisine and participants: Korean cuisine/ 16 teams
   - The ingredients and utensils need to be prepared by the participants
      (The organizers will provide KRW 100,000 to each team for ingredient expenses)
    ※ The organizers will provide cooking tables, gas stoves and mineral waters only
  ○ Results announcement: 2015. 11. 28(Sat) 17:30
 
 ≪Awards≫ : Prize money and certificate
  ○ Time and location: 2015. 11. 28(Sat) 17:30, Gwangju Cultural Center
  ○ Awards: 
    - Grand Prize(1team): Certificate and  cash considerations (KRW 500,000)
    - Gold Prize(1team): Certificate and  cash considerations (KRW 300,000)
    - Silver Prize(1team): Certificate and  cash considerations (KRW 200,000)
    - Bronze Prize(3teams): Certificate and  cash considerations (KRW 100,000/team)
